Andrew Daniel to perform guitar recital Saturday

Andrew Daniel, Professor of Music at 91²Ö¿â, will perform a guitar recital on Saturday, March 31 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.†Admission to the event is $10 for adults, $5 for students ages 4-17 and free for NTCC students with a current ID.†



The recital will include selections†by†Rodrigo, Torroba, Barrios, Albeniz and Villa-Lobos, as well as the Chaconne by Johann Sebastian Bach.

This concert explores the Romantic sounds of the classical guitar from 1740-1940.†



Recognized as a premiere artist of his generation with several top prizes in competitions, Daniel has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe. After completing his Master of Music degree from the University of SouthernCalifornia in 1992, he was offered a European tour under the auspices of the Andres Segovia Institute.†



He settled in Germany in 1992 and founded†Duo Grazioso†with a flutist from the Hamburg Opera and was a frequent soloist with†Musica Vitae,†Sweden?s most distinguished chamber group. Daniel has appeared as a guest soloist in numerous festivals and with many orchestras, including The Rome Opera and The Valencia Chamber Orchestra. In addition to his concert stage performances, he has appeared on several live radio programs, including his Eastern European debut aired over Polish radio.
