Pianist Thomas Pandolfi to perform at Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91²Ö¿â will host virtuoso pianist Thomas Pandolfi on January 26 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert is entitled "Into the Night With Gershwin" and will feature his "Concerto in F" and "Rhapsody in Blue." Pandolfi will also perform his own song medley improvisation and two Etudes based on popular Gershwin songs by Earl Wild.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for students. The event is sponsored by Texas Heritage National Bank. Reservations may be made by calling the Whatley Center box office at 903-434-8181 or tickets may be purchased the evening of the concert.

"Thomas Pandolfi is an amazing up-and-coming star and I am excited to bring a pianist of his calibre to our stage," Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, said.

Pandolfi is a graduate of The Juliard School, where he earned both bachelor's and master's degrees as a scholarship student. His†career has included performances with such European orchestras as The George†Enescu Philharmonic, The Cluj Philharmonic, The Moravian Philharmonic, The National Philharmonic†of the Republic of Moldova, and The Aberystwyth Symphony in Wales, as well as the American†symphony orchestras of Mississippi, Cedar Rapids, Asheville, Princeton, San Angelo, York, Fairfax,†Northbrook, Great Falls, and Owensboro. He has collaborated with such conductors†as Dimitru Goia, Sabin Pautza, Peter Schmelzer, Mihail Agafita, Grigori Moseico, David Russell†Hulme, and many others.
