Amir Sultan, an NTCC Dual Credit student from Ore City High School, was recently named a recipient of the prestigious . According to his Ore City Dual Credit Liaison, Amanda Ainsworth, the scholarship will allow Sultan to attend University of Pennsylvania (or UPenn - an Ivy League university) at no cost to him. The scholarship even covers his travel expenses!
"This was an ongoing application process for Amir most of this semester and he was very nervous he wouldn't be matched. In order to receive the scholarship, each student must match to a university," Ainsworth said. "We were thrilled to learn that he not only matched, but with an Ivy League School! Amir is an amazing student who throws himself into whatever he is doing and we are so proud of this accomplishment."
In addition to taking NTCC classes for two years, Sultan is also a several-time Debate State Champion. Please join us as we congratulate him on this outstanding achievement!
"Amir is an absolute amazing speaker and a brilliant debater. To know him is to know that brilliance is found everywhere," Ja'Quacy Minter, NTCC Director of Student Development and Ore City High School Speech Consultant, said.
