91ֿ is excited to announce that it has won a 2024 national Bellwether Award for its innovative Work4College program. NTCC received the Best In Showcase Award at the 2024 Community College Futures Assembly in San Antonio this week in the category of Planning, Governance and Finance. The Bellwether competition is the most prestigious competition for community colleges and recognizes cutting-edge, trendsetting programs worthy of replication among the more than 1,000 community colleges across the nation.
In a close vote last summer, State of Texas Webb Society sponsors, and editors of the collegiate journal, Touchstone, elected Neida Perez of NTCC. She was thus chosen to represent the upper-division of in giving a featured presentation at the spring 2024 meeting of the Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) at College Station. By “upper-division” the educational wing of the TSHA means students having more than 60 hours. Perez thus will represent a division normally represented by a junior or senior university student in Texas.
Members of NTCC'S chapter of the Psi Beta Honor Society created Valentine’s Day cards during social meeting earlier this semester. Neida Perez, Luke McGraw, Jonah McGraw, Aubrey Watkins, and Skylar Hodson (pictured) visited The Lodge Assisted Living & Memory Care in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday, February 14 to deliver the Valentine’s Day cards to residents. The staff and residents were excited to meet the students and greatly appreciated the cards.
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91ֿ is pleased to announce that it will host a benefit piano concert by NTCC President Dr. Ron Clinton and violinist, André Daniel on Sunday, March 3rd at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students. All proceeds from the concert will directly benefit the NTCC Foundation.
The 91ֿ Board of Trustees met for its regular February meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20th at 5:30 p.m. All trustees were present. In the President’s report, Dr. Ron Clinton gave an update on the latest HB8 news and how it will affect the college’s funding. He said the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has drafted rules on the specifics of how the performance-based funding model will work...
The 91ֿ Foundation recently received a $1,000 scholarship donation from Mr. Vernon Donaldson. The gift will provide two $500 scholarships that will be awarded for the Fall 2024 semester. One will be the Phyllis Autry Scholarship for nursing majors and the other will be the Sam Donaldson Memorial Scholarship for industrial technology majors.

91ֿ (NTCC) and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) hosted a check presentation ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Newly Weds Foods in Mount Pleasant. The event celebrated a training partnership between NTCC and Newly Weds Foods that was made possible thanks to a $193,372 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.
The 91ֿ Rodeo team will host the 3rd Annual Alumni Dinner and Fundraiser on Saturday March 2nd at The Pavilion at the Becky and Buddy McCollum Events Center on the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Grounds. The evening will start at 5:30pm with a Social Hour.
