91²Ö¿â honored Dr. Melissa Weinbrenner, faculty advisor to NTCC Phi Theta Kappa chapter, at the January 2012 Board of Trustees Meeting Tuesday.†Weinbrenner has been chosen to serve as a Phi Theta Kappa 2012 Faculty Scholar. Only 25 instructors were chosen from among nearly 3,000 chapter advisors to receive this honor. Eagles Softball opens this weekend
The NTCC spring softball season gets underway this weekend as the Eagles play at Cisco College Friday before playing at Weatherford Saturday.
NTCC?s softball team is looking to build on last season?s 25-33 record, a season that saw the Eagles narrowly miss making it to the regional tournament.

The 2012 spring baseball season gets underway this weekend as the Eagles host Cedar Valley at 1 p.m. Saturday.

NTCC Eagles baseball, softball to offer live scoring online
91²Ö¿â Eagles softball and baseball fans will have a new way to keep up with their favorite team in 2012, as NTCC will be using the stat keeping software Gamechanger to provide live scoring during all games.
This program will allow NTCC fans to keep up with all of the action, even if they can?t make it out to the ballpark.

MPPD donates police cruiser to NTCC Police Academy
The Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) recently donated a 2007 squad car to the 91²Ö¿â Police Academy. The retired cruiser will be used for training purposes and will give cadets †experience in various real-world simulation scenarios. The Mount Pleasant City Council approved the donation at its January 2012 meeting. NTCC to host drought presentation by Texas State Climatologist
Northeast Texas Community college will host "Drought 2011 and Beyond," a discussion with Texas State Climatologist Dr. John Nielsen-Gammon, on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
There is no charge for admission and anyone with an interest or concern about drought issues is encouraged to attend. The event †was planned in cooperation with the Northeast Texas Municipal Water District and the Titus County Fresh Water Supply District #1.

ETCF gives $12,000 for Spring 2012 scholarships
Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Vice President for Advancement, 91²Ö¿â (NTCC), is pictured receiving a $12,000 check from Ms. Dana Durman, Program Officer, East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF).†The funds were made available to the College by the ETCF through a planned gift from the estate of the late Burt and Nancy Marans, formerly of Pittsburg, Texas.†The gift was designated to be used to assist non-traditional students with their tuition and fees in the spring semester at NTCC.†For more information on this or other scholarship opportunities please contact Dr.

NTCC announces alphabet photography contest
91²Ö¿â is hosting an area-wide Alphabet Photography Contest that is open to NTCC students, employees and the general public. Cash prizes totaling $500 will be given for winning photographs.
Each photo should creatively depict one letter ? either N, T or C. The winning images will be combined to create artwork that will be displayed on the NTCC campus. All images must be shot on college property†(main campus and/or outreach centers)†and individuals may submit up to four images for consideration.
