The ACT is America's most widely accepted college entrance exam. It assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.
How many questions are there and how long will the test take?
English: 75 questions - 45 minutes
Mathematics: 60 questions - 60 minutes
Reading: 40 questions - 35 minutes
Science: 40 questions - 35 minutes
Total: 215 questions
Writing: 1 prompt - 40 minutes
Testing begins after all examinees present by 8:00 a.m. are checked in and seated. A short break is scheduled after the first two tests. For students taking the ACT Plus Writing, a brief break is also scheduled before the Writing Test. Students taking the ACT (No Writing) in standard time rooms are normally dismissed at about 12:15 p.m.; students taking the ACT Plus Writing are normally dismissed at about 1:15 p.m. For more information about what to expect on test day, see test day procedures.

ACT (No Writing): $66.00 Includes reports for you, your high school, and up to four college choices (if valid codes are provided when you register).
ACT Plus Writing: $91.00 Includes report for you, your high school, and up to four college choices (if valid codes are provided when you register).
