NTCC Board swears in members, elects officers
The 91²Ö¿â Board of Trustees elected new officers and swore in three board members at the regular May meeting Tuesday night.
Dr. Dan McCauley and Sid Greer were sworn in for new six-year terms by Titus County Judge Brian Lee. Both terms expired in 2012, but were renewed without holding an election as both incumbents were unopposed.â€

Campaign for the Whatley receives $50,000
The 91²Ö¿â Foundation recently received a $50,000 check from the Burt and Nancy Marans Estate. This gift will contribute to The Campaign for the Whatley. It will be used to help fund the renovation of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at NTCC. San Jacinto Gators win Region XIV title
San Jacinto College is headed to the JUCO Baseball World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Gators remained undefeated throughout the Region XIV tourney and beat Navarro College 1-0 to win it all.
Despite having played four games in the tourney, one earlier in the day, Navarro put up a good fight against a the fresh San Jacinto team.
Both teams were scoreless in the first two innings.

The Navarro Bulldogs fought out of the loser?s bracket for a chance to face an undefeated San Jacinto College team Thursday afternoon in the NJCAA Region XIV Baseball Tournament. Navarro came alive late in the game to eliminate Galveston College 6-3
The Bulldogs will face San Jacinto again today at 5 p.m. in what could be the championship game. If Navarro wins, it will force a final game on Friday at 1 p.m.

Upward Bound gets funded for next five years

The Alvin Community College baseball team?s season came to an end Wednesday in a late-night match up with Navarro College as they were defeated 8-5.

The NJCAA Region XIV Baseball Tournament continued with its pattern of long, extra-inning ballgames on Wednesday night as San Jacinto College beat Galveston College 6-5 in 16 innings.
San Jacinto remains the only undefeated team in the tournament. Galveston will play Navarro at 1 p.m. on Thursday (game 13) in order to try to earn the chance for a re-match with San Jacinto at 5 p.m.

Alvin sends Blinn packing 6-4
The Alvin Community College Dolphins managed to hang on to see another game in the NJCAA Region XIV Baseball Tournament as they beat the Blinn Buccaneers 6-4 Wednesday afternoon.†Alvin will play again at 8 p.m.

Navarro College dashed the tournament hopes of Texarkana College 2-1in game nine of the NJCAA Region XIV Baseball Tournament on Wednesday in the battle of the Bulldogs.
Navarro will play again Wednesday at 8 p.m. against the winner of the Alvin vs. Blinn match up.
No runs were scored in the first inning. Navarro started things off when they scored a single run in the top of the second.
